Dear Colleagues:
I post the following on behalf of Dr PG Turner:
"Cambridge Law Journal PhD Studentships: applications
open
The Cambridge Law Journal is offering two studentships for full
time PhD students commencing doctoral research in 2015-16. The
purpose of these scholarships is to promote research in core areas
of the common law.
The value of a Cambridge Law Journal PhD Studentship will be up to
the value of the applicable fees for a Home UK/EU or Overseas
student, plus the applicable rate of maintenance as estimated by
the University for each year of the studentship. An additional sum
may be paid in the event that a successful applicant relocates to
Cambridge accompanied by the applicant's husband, wife or civil
partner. Each studentship will be tenable for three years, with
annual renewal subject to satisfactory academic progress.
Studentships will be awarded on the basis of academic merit and
research potential.
The two studentships are suited to applicants with a common law
background. One studentship will be for research on the law of
property (especially, but not limited to, real property). A second
studentship will be for research on the law of contract or the law
of torts. Preference may be given to applicants whose proposed
research will require a current knowledge of the relevant area of
English law. However, applications proposing research not confined
to English law will be considered.
The Cambridge Law Journal, which was first published in 1921, is
the oldest law journal associated with the Faculty of Law in the
University of Cambridge. It is a leading legal journal in the
English-speaking world, and is published by Cambridge University
Press, which began publishing in the sixteenth century.
Applications for Cambridge Law Journal PhD Studentships close on 9
January 2015. Interested applicants can download the application
